The Federal Marriage Amendment is Dead on the floor. Huzzah! Huzzah! It failed procedural (cloture) vote 50-48, not even having all Republicans voting for it and far failing the 60-vote requirement. Ptui on divisive election year politics by the conservative wing of the Republican party!
In other news, I'm off to Tucson for an Up with People (www.upwithpeople.org) reunion. This'll be the 5-year for A99. After that, it's up to the Carolinas to see my sister, her girlfriend, and my parents (in from South Dakota) for my sister's birthday. Yippee!
