I just watched the Democratic Senate candidates debate each other on WJCT. Hmm. Betty Castor's leading the polls (45%), but I wouldn't have gotten that impression from her presentation tonight. Peter Deutsch has good voting records from HRC (which he didn't mention) and the Sierra Club (which he did), but was, imho, excessively confrontational to Ms Castor. Alex Penelas did the best job of being pretty and speaking to the TV audience and has a good outlook on GLBT rights from Miami-Dade, yet he's trailing (9%) in the latest poll. All of them made comments reminding people that the election was not just about them, but also about voting for John Kerry, which I'm sure the Republicans will do in their way as well tomorrow. It took a while for all of them to actually answer questions, but it was interesting overall.

Now I have to go do some reading and see what this whole big "terrorist cell at USF" was all about and see who's the most interesting person to vote for.

Cheers,
Andrew
